The best way to find clever products worth buying is to ignore the show and study the job. Here is the quick test we use.
Name the problem in one line
If you cannot explain the problem, the product may be creating a need instead of solving one. Try a plain sentence: “My charging cord keeps falling behind the desk.”
Now ask if the item fixes that exact problem. A simple cord clip does. A glowing desk machine with an app may not.
Watch the boring part
Viral clips love the reveal. Useful buyers watch setup, cleanup, storage, and charging. Those quiet moments show whether the item will fit real life.
A tool that saves two minutes but needs ten minutes of care is not a shortcut. It is a new chore wearing a party hat.
Count the moving parts
More hinges, motors, batteries, and custom pieces can mean more ways to fail. That does not make a product bad. It means you should ask what each part adds.
When two items solve the same job, the simpler one often lasts longer and is easier to live with.

Use the Tuesday test
Picture using the product on a tired Tuesday, not in a perfect demo. Are your hands full? Is the room messy? Would you still reach for it?
If the answer is yes, you may have found a keeper. If the product only shines in a staged video, let the internet enjoy it without your money.
